Environmental Waste Controls plc has access to an Engineering team dedicated to providing 24-hour service with breakdown cover for 700 + Compactors, Balers, Shredders and other equipment across the U.K.

The Engineers are deployed throughout the country and there is an Engineer available for call 24 hours per day 365 days per year.

Environmental Waste Control plc has access to a fabrication workshop in Prescot that works in conjunction with Engineers and Drivers to carry out repairs and refurbishment’s to all types of skips and containers. We also have access to electricians, CCTV engineers, vehicle/tyre fitters, mobile welders and fabricators who are also deployed around the country.

Husmann factory trained engineers will maintain all equipment and containers. Compactors are serviced three times a year and the picking line will be inspected weekly as part of the weekly inspection routine and serviced 3 times per year under a planned preventative schedule. These services will be carried out at off peak times to minimise disruption to the operation.   Environmental Waste Controls will also ensure that daily and weekly maintenance is carried out in accordance with company guidelines.

All Engineers carry a full complement of tools and spares to ensure that 99% of breakdowns are repaired immediately.

In the event of welding repairs being required on site, the Contract Manager will issue the Engineer with a hot work permit which will require the Engineer to ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner, and all necessary precautions (fire extinguishers, welding screens, cooling times etc) are carried out.  All welding repairs will be painted on completion.

All Engineers and technical staff are equipped with the appropriate PPE and safety equipment for the task. All portable power tools are PAT tested regularly and hand tools are visually checked each week.
