Recycling Sites
Environmental Waste Controls constantly looks for resources to handle recyclable materials and as a result have built a large network of suppliers.
We are eager to expand this database and are constantly striving to identify further outlets. We have recently introduced the recycling of mattresses, CD/DVD discs, video tapes, cooking oil, plasterboard and flat glass to many sites and are investigating the recycling of (EPS) polystyrene, coat hangers, carpets, and plastic film (carrier bags and bin liners).
We work in partnership with all our customers and suppliers to share the risks and rewards associated with bringing new recyclates on stream and will actively work with our customers to publicly promote re-use & recycling.
Recycling products helps our environment. When we recycle old used materials are converted into new products. This reduces the consumption of natural resources taken from the ground via forestry and mining.
Waste problem
Each year in the UK households throw away over 29.2 million tonnes of waste.
Recycle steel
A steel can is recycled over and over again and can be used to make any number of new products.
New schemes
Every tonne of paper recycled saves 18 trees. EWC is a market leader in recycling.
By recycling goods we help to conserve natural habitats and raw materials for future generations.
Using recycled materials in manufacturing uses less energy than it would do if producing a new product from raw materials. Money and energy is also saved through less mining and transportation of raw materials.
Recycling helps to protect our environment, helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that have an impact on climate change, and reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill.
