“Since the start of the contract recycling has improved from around 45 – 50% in the first year to around 70% and above for the last nine months. This figure may even rise slightly more as other materials come on stream for recycling.

The current Operations Director, Dave Jolley became involved with this contract in late 2006 and has made a big impact to the improved provision of contract service. He has driven the recycling and service provision forward by getting the right team around him, motivating site staff through bonus schemes and negotiating new recycling outlets and contracts. Through regular meetings and honest straight forward speaking I and other Leicestershire County Council staff associated with this contract have forged a very good working relationship with him and his staff. A contract manager for this contract has been appointed with the approval of LCC but Mr Jolley remains always available should he be needed to react to any problems and plan for the future”.
