Bill Edwards, Non-Executive Chairman and Founder

Bill established a number of successful information technology companies before transferring to waste management.  He is recognised as an industry leader, and has built Environmental Waste Controls into a national player with a £25m turnover employing over 400 people. 

 

 

Bill Shaw, Chief Executive Officer

Joining the Company in 2008 as a non-executive director, Bill became Chief Executive Officer in July 2010.  Prior to joining the board, Bill worked at FTSE50 company United Utilities plc in roles including Water and Wastewater Operations Director, where he led a team of over 2,200 people and controlled an operating budget in excess of £170m per annum.

 

Geoffrey Griggs, Finance Director

Geoffrey is a KPMG qualified chartered accountant and has overall responsibility for the finance function of the Group.  He was previously a Director of Finance at Spicer and Pegler (now part of Deloittes), the Managing Director of MM&K Limited, and a Director of a wide range of companies. He currently sits on the board of one AIM listed and one unquoted PLC.  

 

Dave Jolley, Operations Director

Dave joined the Company in 2003 in an operational capacity at one of its HWRCs. He was involved in the implementation of the Company’s online information systems at a network of sites. Since then he has distinguished himself in a number of increasingly senior supervisory and management roles including running several of the HWRC contracts. This has culminated in his recent promotion to Operations Director.

 

Daniel Edwards, Commercial & Industrial Business Manager

Daniel holds a degree in Business Management from Liverpool John Moore’s University.  Having graduated in 2007, he joined Environmental Waste Controls full time in March 2008,  Previous company roles include working in the first Materials Recovery Facility in Widnes, the Company’s sales department, managing a HWRC site, and establishing the Company’s purchasing department as purchasing manager. He has recently been appointed Commercial and Industrial Business Manager.

 

Jane Findlow, Group Financial Controller

Jane first worked for the Company as a consultant before taking up the role of Group Financial Controller. She is a CIMA qualified accountant with 26 years experience. She has day to day responsibility for running the finance department, management reporting and company secretarial duties.

Steve Collier, Business Development Manager

Steve joined the Company from United Utilities, where his previous role was Commercial Manager. Prior to this, he held a variety of managerial roles within United Utilities since joining them in 2001. Before joining United Utilities, Steve worked at Norweb for 16 years in a variety of management positions. He has a successful track record in building relationships with clients, and retaining contracts. Steve has an honours degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Leeds.

 

 

Steve Dodds, Commercial Director Scottish Division

Steve joined the Company in 2001 as a Field Service Engineer covering Scotland and the North East. He relocated to Liverpool on joining the management team and progressing to Engineering Director.  During this time he was responsible for the implementation and commissioning of 65 HWRC’s throughout England and Wales. After four year in Liverpoo,l Steve relocated back Scotland, where his day to day duties now are to oversee all aspects of the business in Scotland and Ireland.
 
Pat Kirwan, Human Resources Manager
 
Pat joined the company in 2003 and is the head of the HR department.  Pat is a CIPD qualified manager with over 15 years experience in Management and Human Resources.
